For today’s Q&A, we are answering the question, “Is it worth it to go look at houses when it’s raining?” On a rainy day, it can be tempting to grab a book and a cozy blanket for a day inside, but rainy days may actually be the best days to go look at houses you are interested in buying. Watch today’s video to find out more.
Today’s Video:
“Hey guys, Tom here in Fort Worth, Texas on a rainy day, and we get the question a lot, ‘Should we go look at houses when it’s raining outside?’ Absolutely, I think it’s one of the best times to go look because you’re going to see a lot of things you wouldn’t see on a bright, sunny day. Number one, you’re going to see how rain comes off the roof. You’re going to see if the gutters are working or if they’re full or there are issues with them. More importantly, you’re going to see if there’s any kind of ponding or water sitting around the foundation of the house. There are no gutters on this roof which causes the water to pond and if you get water that has nowhere to go, it’s going to push your foundation up.”
Pro Tip: If you are showing your house on a rainy day, you should turn on your porch lights even in the middle of the day because this will create a more inviting atmosphere for potential buyers. On a rainy day, potential buyers have a chance to see your home at its coziest, so be sure to take advantage of this and make your home as comfortable as possible.
