There are so many amazing, well-known options for delicious food in Fort Worth. Joe T. Garcias, Heim BBQ, and HG SPLY CO. just to name a few. The list really goes on and on.
Today, we’re going to talk about some less well-known dining options across Fort Worth. Whether you’re craving tacos, thai food, or burgers, this list has you covered.
ZAAP kitchen
Located right next to HG SPLY CO. in the Westbend complex along the Trinity River, ZAAP offers a quick, affordable, and delicious take on Thai street food. Their spice level goes up to 5, and the highest level is no joke. The food is flavorful, the service is quick and friendly, and ZAAP leftovers are some of the best I’ve ever had from any restaurant.
The restaurant space itself is pretty small with only a few tables inside and outside, so I often find myself ordering the food to go. Luckily, if you call ahead, usually the food is ready in 10 to 15 minutes.
I cannot recommend ZAAP Kitchen enough. Visit their website and order some amazing Thai food.
charley's hamburgers
This restaurant has a really cool and unique feel to it. Charley’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers is located in a small shack on the side of the road. With primarily outdoor seating, Charley’s is a great option for a beautiful day.
They serve traditional, straightforward hamburgers as well as hot dogs, malts, and floats. Their burgers are delicious and their fries are incredibly seasoned. It’s hard for me to vouch for anything else on the menu because I struggle to pass on the opportunity to enjoy one of their burgers.
Charley’s is located on Granbury, just off of I-20, near TCU.

los paisanos
Just outside of the Stockyards lies one of Fort Worth’s best kept secrets. This is a true hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant and it is fantastic. The service is always top notch and the food is really good.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food and you love warm salsa, simple tacos, delicious horchata, or an enchilada plate that is to die for, then you need to check out Los Paisanos. They also have a free margarita deal on weekends right now, so definitely try it out soon.
Los Paisanos is located on N Main St, just outside of the Stockyards in North Fort Worth. They don’t have a website, but here is their Yelp page.
edohana sushi
Found in a strip center on Hulen across the street from where the old Stonegate Mansion used to be, Edohana offers an excellent variety of flavorful options. The prices are very fair and if you’re looking for high quality sushi for your next date night, Edohana is a great choice.
The restaurant itself is rather small, but the food comes out rather quickly. I would say my one complaint is that I wish I got more food. It always disappears too quickly and I always want more. I guess it keeps me coming back.

vickery boulevard cafe
Just down the street from our office on Vickery Blvd, the aptly named Vickery Boulevard Cafe serves delicious breakfast options. This is a classic diner, all the way down to their vintage interior with a red and white checkered floor.
They have amazing fresh-squeezed orange juice and their chicken and waffles plate is amazing. Their fruit is always fresh and the service is always fantastic. Vickery Cafe is a great brunch option, but sometimes the line can back up if you’re part of the rush. Sunday mornings especially can get pretty crowded.
